To no avail it encountered driver problems. I the uninstalled the wicked device and tried to reinstall it, using the Original CD. Suddenly, it failed me, informing me of an ‘incompatible ink catridge’.

My HP Photosmart Plus B209a worked well under Windows 7 (32 bit), even with refilled black ink catridges. If you are brave enough, do consider a Continuous Ink System. Epson has a reputation for excellent machinery, but they are very nasty about enforcing usage of their proprietary cartridges. They are Canon, Fujitsu, Minolta, Epson and Sharp (Samsung is Korean). There are several Japanese printer manufacturers. Sadly, American electronics are now becoming synonymous with American cars.
